Freedom! Unity! Monument!

The construction of a monument to freedom and unity, which has long been the subject of controversy, is planned in Leipzig to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the peaceful revolution. As a result, the city will receive a second place of commemoration with a national focus - in addition to the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, which was once also very controversial. This exhibition will look back on the history of local political monuments over the last 150 years. Photographs, documents and models will be used to show controversial, changed and forgotten monuments and will invite visitors to become familiar with them.
