Photographs of Leipzig Central Station's Construction History

Studio Exhibition
December 2, 2015 – March 6, 2016
Haus Böttchergäßchen, Böttchergäßchen 3, 04109 Leipzig
Opening Tuesday December 1, 6pm

When the 135km railway to Dresden was inaugurated on April 7, 1839, nobody suspected that this means of transport would enjoy a massive upturn in the future.
Barely 50 years later, Leipzig already had six train stations. The Dresden, Magdeburg, Thuringian, Berlin, Eilenburg and the still existing Bavarian Station bare witness to the significance and appreciation of the new means of transport railway.
The exhibition presents impressive original photographs of all former train stations which used to be located on the grounds of the current central station.
