Leipzig’s first official building is finished after the Thirty-years War. For the next 200 years, the hall of the Börse is a place for merchants from all over the world to meet.

The Bank of Leipzig moves its business premises into the ground floor.

A new exchange building is constructed, the exchange on Naschmarkt is called Alte Börse from now on.

1905-1909
|
The Alte Börse is converted into a building for hosting events.

1943
|
The interior of the Alte Börse is destroyed during World War II.

1955-62
|
The Alte Börse is rebuilt, the hall is fully redesigned and is used to stage events.

1992-95

The building is fully restored. The fasade’s colour scheme and the windows are in style of the 17th century. |
