In a long-term project, photographer Gerhard Weber has followed the work of the people who contribute to the production of Meissen porcelain - in many various ways.
Gerhard Weber photographed a broad range of people – from warehouse workers to highly specialised porcelain painters and to the managing director – at their work places in the Meissen porcelain factory. This has resulted in photographs of a set of contemporary, very likeable and very natural people, - whose special gift it is to give a very pleasing and lasting form to an originally amorphous material.
This exhibition of photographs, with its aesthetically formed subjects, complements the exhibition From Leipzig out into the world. |
