Studies from the Concert Hall
Arnd Schultheiß on the Occasion of his 80th Birthday

3rd March - 25th April 2010
Opening on Tuesday, 2nd March, 6:00pm

The studio exhibition of the Leipzig artist and publicist Arnd Schultheiß, which the Museum of City History has organised on the occasion of the artist’s 80th birthday, presents an unusual combination of art and music. The large scope of his artistic output, spanning more than six decades, includes drawings and etchings, paper and material collages as well as works related to architecture. His drawings constitute the starting point of his work.

Observing and drawing at the Gewandhaus concert hall are the result of his artistic training and of the fascination which music has always held for Arnd Schultheiß. This has led to drawings of famous conductors as well as soloists and the Gewandhaus Orchestra since 1968.
