Industrial architecture in Saxony

Experiencing – Preserving – Remembering

Studio exhibition
18 January 2014 – 18 May 2014
Böttchergäßchen 3, 04109 Leipzig

These fascinating architectural photographs (taken by the Leipzig photographer Bertram Kober) illustrate an era which has greatly shaped Saxony - the age of industry. There is hardly any region of Saxony which is not connected with industrial history, and there is hardly any Saxon cityscape without historical industrial buildings. With the help of large-scale colour photos and well-structured texts, the exhibition not only shows a range of successful concepts for the reconstruction and subsequent use of industrial architecture throughout Saxony but also commemorates architecture which has been lost forever.
Modern photographs supplement the historical photographs.

This photo exhibition is a collaboration with the Saxon State Office of Museums and it is shown in parallel, but with different emphases, at the Museum of the Printing Arts (Museum für Druckkunst), Leipzig.
