Haus Böttchergäßchen, Böttchergäßchen 3, 04109 Leipzig
Clara Schumann is considered the most famous female pianist of the 19th century. She was a Leipzig child prodigy. However, she became part of music history, first and foremost, as the wife of Robert Schumann, who had to fight her strict father, the piano teacher Friedrich Wieck, in court so as to marry her. So, is this a romantic love story between two artists with a happy ending? Hardly that. The studio exhibition shows a selection of the most beautiful Clara Schumann exhibits from the collection of the Museum of City History.
