Urecounted and priceless. Female artists intervene on city history

In the historic rooms of the Old Town Hall, visitors can see paintings and priceless objets d’art from many centuries. They tell the story of the city – however, they usually tell just one half of the story! Electors and kings, councillors and mayors, reformers and professors, composers and poets – and not a single woman among them!

The female artists of GEDOK Mitteldeutschland e.V. will provisionally fill some of these “vacant spots” using contemporary means and questions. For two months, they will fill the rooms of the Old Town Hall with their ideas and inspire visitors to question what they know and are familiar with and to see things in a new light.
