This exhibition shares love stories from the 1970s. It provides glances into queer life in the late GDR and in the postreunification period. It relays coming-out experiences from the early 2000s and will even share some vulnerable stories about loneliness in the here and now. This exhibition is about visibility. About making queer (hi)stories heard. About narratives of shame, struggles and queer pain. About redemptive realizations, euphoria and love. And finally: about collective organization for recognition and rights.

»CAN YOU FEEL MY JOY / CAN YOU HEAR THE STORM?« introduces visitors to stories of life in Leipzig with diaries, photo series and videos, audio stories and queer hymns.

A studio exhibition by Queer Voices Leipzig in cooperation with the Museum of City History Leipzig.
