Stock
The Collection of the Photo Library is an extraordinary source of historical photographs. The stock of more than 100,000 objects includes numerous rarities, such as e.g.:
- Estate of Berta Wehnert-Beckmann: 83 Daguerreotypes, 3,500 glass negatives, 1843–1885
- Estate of Hermann Walter: 3,400 negatives, mainly on glass, representing the history of architecture in Leipzig, 1870–1930
- 20,000 postcards
- 330 photographs of the ‘Leipziger Herbst’, showing the political events in 1989
